Michigan Poker - What Charity Poker Has Done For Our State

The State of Michigan has for a long time allowed Licensed Millionaire parties to be held for fund raisers for in state charities. These events would include any number of Casino type games. With the popularity in Texas Hold-em poker growing world wide, these millionaire parties quickly changed to Texas Hold-em tournament fund raisers.

The one main problem for the charities was they didn't have poker tables or qualified dealers. So in came a new business niche the suppler. They would provide dealers, tables, chips and cards to any charity for their event. This method continued for a few years until on of the suppliers thought of a great idea. Why run around from charity event to charity event. What if we booked a location and held the charity events in a fixed location. Then we could bring charities in here.

That was the birth of the Charity Poker Room in the State of Michigan. With the Rooms located in a single location allows subsequent orders from the player itself. This allowed the supplier to save on transport costs of their equipment from event to event.

So with the whole story, what this has done for our state? We are located in one of the biggest crisis in history. The charity poker rooms have given our industry in state agencies, after a trial to make money on one. The average weekly benefit of $ 2,000 an event, you can see the benefits of these charities.

While theentertainment dollar gets tighter, knowing that you can get into a local poker tournament or cash game that help in state charities can make you feel good. Also you don't have to drive 20 + miles to get to the Casino. So keep supporting your local charities in this down economy.
